As a meteor heads towards Earth, an average guy facing the loss of everything he holds dear, decides to step up and become the hero we all need.
I want to option this script... CLICK HERE

I really enjoyed this. I agree with person who suggested a scooter but the only thing that really nagged at me was the fact the the blonde guy seemed to know what was in the bag - weapons, trinkets.
Maybe if Mismatch Man emptied out the bag before striding off?
Mis-spelling 3 paras up from end "Mismatach".

I love this one. Having watched/read quite a few Imapact50 stories now, a light-hearted and funny script like this should be included in the film. There are many emotional stories and a few darker
ones are coming through now but funny is not often what people think when they think we're all gonna die. I can totally believe some people would react this way. Actually, the protagonist reminds me
of one of my brother's best friends. He would do something like that. Great job, Mark.

What a fab story! I was willing him to to be able to actually do something! I love the fact it was team at the end!
I can see why others have said about the motorbike - I think if you want to make him appear like a 'real' superhero, there needs to be something else to indicate this, other than the motorbike - not
sure what though - maybe have him have a 'communicator' and he gets a message to save Earth (?) could add to his ridiculousness but could also be true?? Hmmm maybe not lol.
Well done on the comp placement! :D

If there are any producers out there pondering if they should option this, I can confirm that this script recently got to the top 40 of the UK Film Festival 3 minute screenplay contest if that helps

Hey Mark, loved Mismatch Man - great stuff - your humour comes through nicely. Don't have anything to add to the comments below, other than to agree with the thoughts about the motorcycle/scooter -
but either way, its a great, heartfelt story!

Hi Mark. It's a beautiful story and I like the ending. Also, let me say that Mismatch Man is a great name. :D I don't know why, but as soon as I read the first couple of paragraphs I thought "What if
Mismatch Man isn't an adult but a kid? And what if instead of a motorcycle he has a bike?"
Also, do you need the "EXT. DESERTED STREET" scene? What if he leaves the store and then stops his motorcycle near the beach?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I feel like this script could go either way, it could either be filmed as more of a comedy where the average guy is like Frank Spencer or Mr. Bean, or if it could be
filmed seriously where the guy ends up looking really cool and actually make the audience think he could be a superhero, even though he makes an unusual outfit. I do prefer the latter but it could go

I like this idea: it doesn't matter that our final actions are fruitless, we'll rage at the dying of the light, regardless. I can understand why others may have suggested your hero rides a scooter
rather than a powerful motorbike because it doesn't immediately suit his character, but the fact that this average joe happens to have a huge machine at his disposal is a nice touch, I feel. If he's
into super heroes then it's not out of the realm of possibility that he's been riding his bike to fulfill his superhero desires- speed, power, etc, average though he may be.

Like this idea. Why not make it more Mr Bean/Johnny English - takes macho pose in front of mirror, scooter rather than powerful motorbike, he faces up to the cool dudes on the beach as if to take
them on, girls impressed, "You shall not advance!" declaration to the oncoming storm wave with smug deluded satisfaction, then "Oh dear." final realisation etc Such fun! Cheers Tom

The title nailed it for me and the story delivered. Very well done.
My only suggestion, don't make Mismatch Man (aka Average Guy) drive a powerful motorcycle. He would not be able to handle it in a million years. Have him ride a scooter instead, whizzing through town
